Community Guidelines
Last updated: 13 June 2026
Side is a place to take on challenges and share them with friends. To keep it fun and safe, everyone follows these guidelines. They apply to everything you share — posts, photos, videos, captions, comments, usernames, profiles, and direct messages.
Breaking these guidelines can lead to content removal, warnings, or account termination.
What's not allowed
- Harassment & bullying — targeting, demeaning, or intimidating others.
- Hate speech — attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
- Violence & threats — threatening or promoting harm against people or animals.
- Sexual content & exploitation — sexually explicit material, and anything that sexualises minors, which we report to the authorities.
- Nudity posted without consent, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Spam & scams — repetitive, deceptive, or fraudulent content.
- Impersonation — pretending to be someone you're not.
- Illegal activity — promoting or facilitating anything illegal.
- Intellectual-property infringement — posting content you don't have the rights to.
- Dangerous challenges — content encouraging self-harm or activities likely to cause serious injury.
Keeping yourself safe
- Think before sharing personal information or precise locations.
- You control who sees your content through your friends.
Reporting and blocking
If you see something that breaks these guidelines:
- Report it — tap the report option on any user, post, comment, or message.
- Block the user — blocked users can no longer interact with you.
We review reports and act on violations within 24 hours where appropriate, including removing content and removing offending users from Side. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, or permanently terminate an account. Serious violations (such as child sexual abuse material or credible threats) result in immediate removal and are reported to the relevant authorities.
